Augmented Reality: By Leap Motion

Throw away your mouse and keyboard, motion gestures is the way to go! Well not now, obviously. I still have to type this article. This reminds me of the Robert Downey Jr.'s Ironman movie? Do you remember the scene where he uses hand gestures on a table screen to build a virtual suit? I think it's very awesome, kind of like an augmented reality photoshop. Well, maybe it's all possible now in the near future, with what they call the super awesome Leap Motion Control. (exclude the super awesome)
So, based on what I read from Engadget the setup that enables this is only a motion control camera the size of a pack of Wrigley's gum. The miniscule device claims to be able to register hand movements up to 1/100 of a milimetre and no, you can't even see 1/100 milimetre. The size of Leap Motion's device connects through USB for power and claims to be able to work universally with common electric appliances like refrigerators. It supports up to 10 finger gestures altogether and forget pinch-to-zoom, it can even register movements for complex motions like manipulating 3D-objects(CAD anyone?).Oh, did I mention that it's only $70 and you CAN preorder it now? Check out Leap in action with the video below!
